WHAT’S “KOGANEIRO PROJECT”
Through textile trading, “Asian Trading Japan” has been
building a relationship with Thailand. For the past few years,
we have been focusing attention on silk made from golden
cocoons, which are used for the national costume in
Thailand, in order to build stronger relationships. As we were
pondering this time-honored traditional silk, we were
amazed by a woman we met at an exhibition in Thailand.
Named Pia, this 66-year-old woman haled from the
Piankusol family. Her family had been doing business in the
sericulture industry for more than 200 years, over 5
generations, in the same location. We were impressed by
how beautiful and radiant her skin was. The secret lies in the
silk cultivation work itself. As we were unlocking the secret,
we were inspired by the wonderful potency that Thai silk can
offer and started to think that, by developing and releasing
cosmetic products made from this quality silk, we can create
a new interrelationship between people in Japan who use
them and people in Thailand who make the ingredients. We
launched the “KOGANEIRO PROJECT” with the hope in mind.
We live in a world full of information and things, and we are
all forced to make decisions and choices. For women who
live in the modern era juggling kids, household chores and
work, this choice will be the first step to reach out for
happiness. Through this project, we will offer right choices
and safe-to-use, quality products to our customers.

PROJECT AIMS
With “TRACEABILITY”, we ensure that the background of the ingredients
and the production process that allow us to offer quality products are visible to consumers.
With “SUSTAINABILITY”, we continue to promote the life of farmers in Thailand who are involved in this project.
We will keep these two promises as we proceed with this project.
-
TRACEABILITY
IN MORE DETAIL
One of the important components of delivering safe high-quality cosmetics is traceability, therefore this project lets you see all the way to the mulberry fields that are used to feed the silkworms. We assure that the silk protein used in all of our products is made from only the silken threads produced under Pia’s strict control. Mulberry leaves are grown organically under the great natural blessings of Chiangmai. From cocoons to silk, the entire process that produces Thailand’s acclaimed high-quality silk is done at her facility. -
SUSTAINABILITY
IN MORE DETAIL
In our cosmetics, we use frison, which is the thick string silkworms spit first. It is the part of less value as silk but is rich in silk protein, which benefits skin in various ways. We purchase this frison, which some farmers discard, over official routes and import it to Japan. And, we ensure the “sustainability” by extracting silk protein in Japan, selling products made with it domestically and giving back to farmers in Thailand in the form of income and new jobs.

ABOUT US
“Asian Trading Japan (ATJ)” was established in 2011, as a sole agent of “Suratanapat Textile”, a textile company in Thailand. As our relationship with the local textile industry became stronger, we became a trading consultant and intermediary between textile companies in Japan and Thailand. We now support local businesses who export to Japan while trading on our own. This project is our way of paying our gratitude back to the textile industry in Thailand.
