ORGANIC GOLDEN SILK

Products of the “KOGANEIRO PROJECT” are made from

the golden-colored silk of tropical silkworms, which

cannot be found in Japan. These silkworms are very

sensitive and die if the mulberry leaves they feed on are

contaminated with only a little bit of pesticide. Therefore,

the farms strictly prohibit the use of pesticides and take

care of their silkworms with the help of the great nature

of Thailand. The silk protein we use is extracted from silk

grown carefully in a safe and protected environment.

Golden cocoons, which are nurtured by Mother Nature

and the tender care of local growers, are loaded with

flavonoid, a kind of polyphenol. Flavonoid offers

antioxidant and antibacterial benefits. It is resistant to UV

rays, so, according to one theory, the cocoons have

evolved to have a golden color in order to protect

themselves from UV rays.
